Going Crazy

My steam wont open anything, I connect and everything is normal, then when I double click to play any game steam just closes, I open steam again and connect, double click on a game I want to play (I TRIED ALL OF THEM), and steam just closes by itself. I went to steams website and searched for it on support but its sooooooooo hard to find anything on that website lol. PLEASE HELP

it's a complex machine that can do mutiple task's.
go wrong on one department and you get trouble's all over..
the more options you got the bigger the manual.
I got my pc for gaming,anything screwing with that is a big no no.
learn to format or maybe get a playstation.

I got the trent micro package installed now and its the best i used by far.
panda is free for home use i believe thats sweet.or was it sygate lol??!!11

ps trent micro is the only scaner up to U.S army spec's

my comp is fine i got rid of everything but 6 things that i couldnt and they are no big deal
it claims to change my homepage and IE settings but it hasnt yet so its all good
iv put everything in my comp for gaming too
but i have a friend who has his own comp companey so i dont know much about computers i just get him to do everything

Go to www.tds3.org and get their trojan prog and also run some sort of spyware application...

then after all that is said and done goto "Start-> Run" type "msconfig"
select the "startup" tab. Uncheck you messanging progs, your music match, quick time, all those players you have... leave the windows components and everything you don't know what it is checked... then hit "apply" and "ok"... reboot... then try starting steam and loading into a game... if not then PM me everything that is under the "startup" tab as described above...

it's just somting you need to be sure of.
trying to fix a infected sys is a waste.
if you not find any infections there is no real need for a format,but a format is faster and you learn more.

Tried many different antivirus programs no luck, I always had norton antivirus and firewall installed. Still not working

to setup the correct speed for your cpu you need to go into the BIOS setup and look for frequetcy controle first look for your processors fsb on their website fsb and divide that by half so 266fsb on the processor you set the cpu fsb clock to 133 and save and reboot

Sounds like something (trojan) wants to keep him out of there... So I have him d/ling TDS3 (trojan detection system) so he can check that out and maybe get rid of something that everything else missed. TDS3 did the trick for me once b4.

Fastest fix at this point: format c:\ then start from scratch... sucks I kno...

format c: will get it solved in 1% of the time than trying to fix.
you loose some databecause of the format you did not manage it right,just get a little more aware but do a format.

make sure you have the internet drivers on disk so you can get online and we get you setup fast again with the newest drivers and protection and what not you need to have a good pc.

steam is the problem in only 1% of the case's it's alway's the user:d

if its not a realtec or an amd make sure you download them and save them.

scan your pc there and use the download link to get your drivers.

than it's sometime's hard to install xp on it and you need the master cd's.
