Definition of Camping...

I was debating with Proto what camping is and here is my conclusion of what camping is:

Camping is when you remain behind the last flag that your team controls for more than just a few moments/couple of minutes... If you aren't trying to move up and end the game, simply put- you are a camper... Now I know that sometimes there are situations that this cannot be helped, but these situations aside, my idea of camping is when you are not in between the last flag your team controls and the closest flag that the enemy controls. I know this may seem extreme to some, but if you aren't constantly moving up, you are camping... AND, if my opinion isn't clear, camping isn't very good.

So please, if you have anything to say about camping and how negative or even how positive it is, do please speak up...

camping... its part of the game... depending on what class you are...

sometimes you gotta break camp as a sniper and run with that damn pistol though...

I think that a sniper should be trying to "end" the enemy guys before they even reach their next flag, making it easier for people whos guns lack the accuracy to kill from a distance to get the next flag... If you aren't killing them before they reach their flag closest to the conflict, it isn't camping. If aren't in a position to kill them by then, that is camping.

yeah yeah yeah.. thats all well and good and all.. when I set up camp I am generally shooting beyond the next capture point... its still camping... try doind that someday and you'll be accused of being a scoped-enfield camping n00b wh0re...

Due to the sheer volume of kills you attain Stiltz, I don't exactly think of you as a camper, but I am generally curious of what everyone thinks of camping, why they loathe/love it, and what everyones thoughts are of it...

I also get the same response that StIltz gets im always up in kmart. It would be easy to kill me if they went through bank but it ver happens.

Its like shooting fish in a barrel. They dont learn. So it isnt my fault they dont.

Camping is generally a necessary evil. Setting up an MG or sniping in a valuable position to hold the enemy's advance is part of the game. Since I am more of the Banzai Assault type, I dont mind it too much. Its a challenge to come up from different directions to take out those who hide behind things and attack from a distance. To me its your loss if your a 'camper' since I think its a lot more fun to be running/sneaking around and attacking, rather than waiting for yet another moron to run down the same alley/middle area right into your direct line of fire. And thats what this game is about, fun.

Camping is all a madder of opinion. When i am using the scoped K98 or the brit rifle, i usually stay beheind the group siting and waiting.

I do this for 2 reasons

1) To hold the flags that have already been captured by my team. Geting up and moving every minute with a sniper rifle is a hard thing to do when it is designed for siting, waiting, and striking. When i can prevent a rush of 3 or 4 guys from getting the middle axis flag, i consider that defending the flag. I never, though, stay in one stop if there is noone coming for more than 2 minutes, thats just boring.

2) I defend flags. When the axis have 4 out of the 6 flags, i switch to rifleman to marksmen, and dig in for nades and alot of rushing. But as soon as we have the problem under control, and i see that the axis are lacking in rushing power, i switch back to rifleman and rush rush rush.

The really can't be "camping" in a map. There can be, however, stupid n00bs that just get annoying when they get killed at a camping spot and then return time after time after time. That is just annoying, and that can be called camping, but its just n00bieness.

Not to sound like an arse, but the people that call other people campers bother me. That just means that u can't get in the right spot and kill the person. I never call anybody campers, because the person in question doesn't last that long anyways, so it is not to worry about camping.

i think with players of our caliber there really is no camping, if you get sniped, you got a sense of wher ethat person is can can try to take him out...some people sit behind the last flag, especially on the axis side to prevent ppl like Punk from getting in the cage and racking up the kills...

sure i hate snipers, thats why im trying to become a good one, but its part of the game and people are goin gto have to deal with it...and when you get outsniped, or evenly matched, such as SohCahToa and i were last night, just switch teams and shovel the ass before you disconnect...:p

Since when cant a sniper snipe and a MG gun? dont you have to kind of camp to be efective? If you sit in one spot to long they know where you are so move around. shoot them some where else and go back for a while, by that time they send a search party after you. While you have a Party killing them!!!

That is just deviously sneaky. That and always moving up.

I think that too many people stay in one place, and don't move up enough, and that is bad camping.

I dont camp much but I dont give a hoot most of the time. I think its worse when 5 out of 8 players on your team are camping thats when it gets bad. its fun killing campers cuz you know where they are and eventually you'll get em, they cant hide forever.

When I snipe 'n' camp I stay in one spot forever! It is so hilarious to see people not learn and just keep running through where they were just killed! Like OMG funny! Then there are the snipers that try to outsnipe you but are just horrible and move to fast or show too much of their helmets and BLAMY another one sent to the grave...

I snipe to camp... I camp to snipe...

You will notice though that I haven't sniped in ages... this is to hone my unscoped single shot skillz..

Gawd, that is sooo true... If someone doesn't learn and you get to just tag them time after time, it starts to become very hilarious.

Yea sometimes I actually like stay in one spot like for instance behind the fire in fire alley or behind the british 2nd flag. I would snipe people out and I agree with Stiltz. It is so amusing when people get shot in the head and they always come back for more. It'll take the noobs like 4 to 5 deaths to figure out whats killing them. Usually i'll pick off 10 people before they find and kill me.

But I barely do this. I usually camp when I'm playing with the idiotic noobs.

These idiots dont learn.
I camp and camp and these noobs keep coming for me the same way and I always end up sniping them in the head.
when I was camping yesterday I got a 17 kill streak (followed be a 8 death streak)


But I'd think that I'm more of an aggressive sniper than a Camping sniper.
If you have other thoughts about it then tell me.
I'd like to know.

Without Campers the game gets borring ... But i do agree that some people take it to the extrem a little ...

But im more of a Camping sniper simply because i dont have a Cross Hair on my Sniper and it's pretty hard to Run , Zoom IN and shoot when your " victim " SO SO Close...hahaha

I guess im just use to the Beach Maps where i can stay in one place and Snipe about 100 poor "victims" before the poor bastards figure out where i am ....


I think they should limit the ammount of Snipers per round in CAEEn. Iv played some rounds with (PDM) with up to 4 snipers per team...

I say for a round of ( 8 V 8) there should be no more then 2 snipers per team...

When you have to many snipers camping . The game gets boring and long.. 2.5 hours for one round of Caeen is a little long for me ....

I dont know maybe the( PDM) Crew like it this way...But i can tell you guys i do find it pretty funny that i can get snipe 20 times in a row buy the same guy without him getting shot...

It's a good Clan to practice with that's for sure...All you guy's rule when it comes to sniping ..

Yeah Generally that's what i do ..But when your playing a map that you dont know to well and your playing with a bunch of skiled Caeen players it can still get pretty wild....

I'm still a little new to the Caeen Map but i can guarenty you that i would not get snipe 20 times in a row playing Charlie or Overlord.....hahahaha ...I know all the hidding spots in those maps


Last match i played with PDM elwood, UsSwissChesse and i where kickking ass then Quick and punck join the Alies and we got are butts kick big time ....hahahaha

But it had to be the best PDM match i ever played

Every match you play with PDM is the best, just learn the map and youll get used to every dark corner i might be in....

Well, if your to be a sniper, you have to be good! meaning you have to be abel to rush to a spot kill the "wave" of people comming then rush to another spot and kill the "wave" of people comming and so on and so on!

Also, you gotta be able to no scope [Like blue,Stilitz,Me, and Ammo can do pretty well!] Learn that and you are a good [decent] sniper!

hahahah Souza yeah they only way that works is if you know the map like the back of your hand ...like most of the PDM Crew

Switch maps and come and play with my regular crew and you wont have the time to run zoom in and Shoot ...You will get shot ...hahahaha


so that's why im saying you guys are a good Crew to practice with because i have playing d.o.d for years but still new to CAEEN and i never get shot up like i do when i play with PDM......hahahahaha

And white feather give me a couple of weeks to learn Caeen and will have a Sniper War or something ..

Im sure the score will be something like White feather 100 Kills and Red Dragon 2 kills or something like that ...BUT it will be freaking funny times for sure ....

I would say that I am pub ***** lots of times and play elsewhere besides PDM servers... I strip my tag and change my name and play and play and play... I know lots of maps like the back of my hand...

Switch and forest are pretty cool map also ...Im getting pretty good at Forest but my favorite map will always be Charlie for sure. But im starting to like playing Caeen with PDM.....


But Stilts PDM should look in to having a Ultamite 8 v 8 Sniper war...Where the only weapons allowed would be snipers and maybe shovels and knives

I think with the amount of good snipers PDM has...It could turn out to be one hell of a match for the record books...

And Im sure we can find 16 volunteers that want the tittle of PDM Sniper King ...hahahahaha

Anybody can camp in one spot and snipe....The chalenge is to move arround and snipe and not camp more then like 1 minute at the same spot .....

Campers suck.

Over the last three days that I have been playing, There has been the maximum number of snipers on almost ALL the time that I have been on there, and they don't kill much, or for that matter, they haven't even been helping their own teams very much. Kinda lame. If you want to snipe- go ahead. BUT, since it is nearly the easiest position in the ENTIRE game, at least try and kill the other teams campers, so those of us who do not camp, can move up in the game...

What campers/snipers REALLY need to do, is kill other campers/snipers. It would help keep the game interesting, as well as continually prove that each of the snipers we have can do something that many others cannot, thus making them very valuable assets.
