Seeing the movie "The Passion of the Christ" by Mel Gibson was quite an experience. I would have to say that the movie was probably toned down still from the actual events that were shown as far as the affliction and suffering the Jesus suffered.
I would say the movie makes you think about your own life (at least it did for me) and wondering home many times He was whipped because of me and my sins.
However, when playing DoD its a different story (maybe I won't lose my temper as easily... big maybe) but I'm still going to shoot as many people as I can...

Overall it was a good movie. There was a few "youngsters" at our showing and I don't know if I had children as young as those children were if I would bring them. The violence that happens to Jesus (while important for children to be aware of) just doesn't need to be potrayed like that for the innocent to see... Once an age of Decision has been reached by a child this would be a good movie for them to see to always have the visualizations of the whips whipping Jesus as a reminder of their sins and to not sin as best as possible to avoid having another lashing be because of them on His body.

Unfortunately, and I am rather embarrassed to say this, but I haven't seen the movie yet. I know how the story goes, I am quite familiar with it, but I didn't think the movie would be all that great. When Hollywood gets involved, sometimes things go wrong. Although, based on all of positive reviews of it- I think that I will hurry out and see it.
But I am glad to see that there are some reviews here. They encourage me to see it.

I would say that is the best movie I have seen in some time. It really made you think, as Stiltz said. I would definetly go see it again.
I dont think that hollywood had to big of a influence on this movie because of the fact that Mel Gibson had a hand in it. He has directed and produce many films on the life of Christ.

God Bless,
