First Impressions

Man i must have played for about an hour.
Its kinda small, everything feels so much smaller, and you dont get that many weapons anymore like some classes come with knives etc etc etc.

Humm, something has to be wrong. My FPS ingame is crap, under 25 most of the time, and im hearing even people with highend cards are gettin crap FPS. I played for a bit, but i cant have fun when im drawing ugly FPS like this.
Might be time to buy a new card or something, i dont know.

my comcast works fine for me pings around 20-60 as high as 90 depending on server, inded maps are small and sorta confusing expecialy when u dont know what map ur on. and its definaly time to upgrade to that AMD 64 x2 4400+ toledo i want with the asus delux sli board along with 2 video cards

I have to say that I ran at a pretty constant 55fps give or take 5 at any given moment... I run it with HDR on full and all graphical settings to high...

I do enjoy the graphics and all the new features...

I do not enjoy the gameplay though... It doesn't have the DoD feel... no one communicated on any of the three servers I was in. I played 3 of the 4 maps that it has I didn't get to play flash... Steam says DoD:S is currently unavailable to me so I'm going to bed. Maybe in the next days/weeks DoD:S will grow on me or something but I am not all too impressed with the gameplay on a whole. =\

I didn't even have my hopes up that high. I was expecting better graphics and similar gameplay and improved physics... I got better physics I'll give them that... And stunning graphics! but gameplay sucked... maybe it was because everyone was lagging like mad because they couldn't see what was happening because their fps sucked so horribly... Even though I run at 55fps I think I will still upgrade my video card. This game taxes my computer. The power supply fans and the CPU fans are all temperature controlled and they went into high after about 3 minutes of gameplay. I am impressed that it taxes it so much (and that the heat activation for the fans worked too. lol)...

had to tweak a little but its a smooth game now.
I think I like it a lot.
just wait for tweaks and what not.
its always the same with new games. :d

You mean, its always like this with VALVe games. Its funny that i was able to play the ARR version before release with almost 50 FPS, and the one released thru Steam, im gettin almost 20 FPS, something isnt right at all.

Stiltz I agree with you, game play is NOT the same anymore. My view is the gap between great players and noobs is brought together; they messed it up with classes and weapons to top it off.

I agree KC. The class changes for the weapons make it a little frustrating especially when my garand runs out of ammo and I go to flip over to my pistol and I have none! Now I can't throw an actual grenade when playing with the garand either which I find as a mere nuisance. The new system has its advandtages though I will admit that. I guess I'l play more tonight after work and see how I feel about it the second go around.

im not gonna say its bad...but its not good. and i dont have any fps problems really, gets a bit choppy in action but thats about it. and i think i have the worst comp out of all of you :)

im not gunna say i dont like it... but its going to take alot of getting used too... i wish it was same dod w/ better graphics... no pistols on all people = gay

runs pretty choppy and i get 30-60 fps usual

The new update released last night or this morning has helped me in the FPS department, im VERY happy about that cause i finally am able to enjoy the game as it should be. Kicked some azz this morning, just waiting for the PDM server to arrive. :)

They did have to run around with the thompson anymore hopeing to shoot something. granted i still need a new computer, but the fps went from around 22 to 30 for me

I did some searching on "tps" and it seems to be a server side setting for maximum FPS for clients... I don't know why it shows up on net_graph 1. lol


I'll keep looking and let you know.

ahh i finally got it to ****ing work and i'd say its pretty awesome. i guess it is different but.. i haven't really played dod in like a long ass time so i dont care. i like how it is now. and i like the graphics mucho.

im getting about 45-50fps 1280x1024 everything max and 4xAA. so its all good there too.

ugh lunch break is not nearly long enough.
